Howdy

Bought some HC110 a couple of months ago from my local Calumet (much cheaper than web + postage) in 500ml and it was the 9:1 European concentration.

Yesterday bought a litre size bottle from Calumet and got the 31:1 syrup!  Not only was the litre bottle a couple of pence cheaper than two half litres (times are indeed hard), but got three times the developing potential!

Yippee!

And here's a stoopid question for a Sunday.... can I reuse the fixer after fixing a film?

yes - I usually re-use fixer about 3 - 4 times for film development, but if I'm printing, I'll only use it for one session.  A good tip is to keep some unexposed portions of film (you're cut off leaders will do), immerse a bit in the fixer solution and see how long it takes for them to clear - if it's over 1 minute, then use fresh solution.

The official fixer rule is fix for double clearing time. When used fixer clearing time becomes double that of the fresh solution, dispose of solution.

One thing I still wonder about is why they still sell standard fix when rapid fixer is much more convenient?
