I get the announcement part. I do have friends who have used it to twitter their thoughts while behind the scenes at Fashion Week shows (which were VERY entertaining - because they happen to be very funny guys).
I'm thinking that maybe I just need to be more organized to utilize it; start letting customers know I'm on it, build my list, then use it to announce shows or new images (when my on-line store goes up).
I had started a blog (
http://gothamtomato.blogspot.com ) a while back, but soon realized that I don't have as much to say as I thought I did. Or at least, not as much to post within the framework of an essay. I started second-guessing myself; continually asking myself if things were really blog-worthy. And I think that the best blogs have a distinctive voice, and I couldn't figure out what I wanted my blog voice to be. Should it be serious or humorous (or could it be both)? I tend to be a rather goofy person, and like to post silly things, (and sometimes political things) but if I do that, will that hurt my sales? I don't know. My pictures are really an extention of my personality, so if someone doesn't like my blog (or twitter) personality they likely wouldn't like my pictures either. So much to consider. Or maybe I'm over-thinking it.
So many other things to do, to distract me, I haven't posted to the blog in a while. Just started on twitter yesterday:
