Weekend 13-15 March
« on: March 13, 2009, 08:45:17 PM »
Spent a few days driving down to here and back this week. Tis a lovely place but hellish to drive down. Called the Golden Road on the isle of Harris because of the cost to make the blimin thing.
Snapped this with the Hassie and HP5 @800 [for some reason that escapes me] and developed in Rodinal.

Here are three taken today during lunch and one taken this past Wednesday (the other part of my "weekend"). All were taken with a Nikkormat FTN and Nikkor 50mm 1.4 and Nikkor 105mm 2.5 lenses.

Found myself in Brighton on Thursday and made half an hour to walk along the cold and windy seafront.

My good friend Eddy Tyrell - former British Lightweight Twaekwondo Champion. This is the first image taken with my cannabis grow lights to go with the portable darkroom :) I need a separate light for the back ground. This was made inside the garage - 4 sec exposure at f5.6 with the light about 1mtr away.

Nice to see Harris, spent a lot of time there.

Carl, it's always a pleasure to see your work here & find out about how you get it all working together  ;) Eddy looks a bit like Skorj BTW and that 2nd photo of Liz is great; in my view more successful than the first (but then I don't know what she looks like in 'real life').

Yaniv, I seem to remember you saying you have an ongoing project w/ regard to you 5x4 work, but I've forgotten what it is. There seems to be a lot of construction evident in your photography. Is the theme related to that?

I enjoy seeing all the weekend posts here, especially Stu's vertiginous photo of his feet.

My film wasting this past weekend turned out to be a lot like work.  I did, however, make some prints (scanned for posting) from a few 8x10 negatives made with my Agfa camera and 300mm Symmar lens.  These two are samples from a fairly large group of photos I have of anthropomorphic rocks--mostly found in the woods behind my house.

Some very fine images.

Rained all weekend here but here are some prints I got to do from a recent shoot in the snow with my Banier clone.

Strictly speaking I shot this a few weeks ago but I thought I'd make an inaugural post on the forum. I've shot digital pretty much full time for the last six years or so but I dusted off my old Leica M6 which I am ashamed to say has languished in the back of a cupboard for all that time. It was totally freak shooting film again but I really loved the look of the images on my monitor and I am hooked again. The 'look' is sooo different and I realised how much time I waste trying to get my digital images to look like film.

XP2 dev'ed and scanned at Costco. :)
