Hello & welcome. This is entirely the right place to post anything really about film. Including failing your degree I suppose. Not sure we can help you there, assuming it was an art degree, and not a medical degree (which would perhaps explain their reluctance to embrace Holga work).

Perhaps the Holga's time as a serious art tool has passed?

Regardless, I enjoyed the photographs you have posted here. The first one for its overall quizzical nature, and the last for its soft languid feel. Are they part of a bigger project? Welcome again. Skj.

Welcome to FW.com. Great work. Nice to see more colour. Sorry about your degree. How can a camera type change the outcome of an art degree?  Weird.

aww thanks for making me feel welcome :) I didnt mind so much about not doing too great in my degree, more that the people i was meant to be learning from were so closed minded as to think using a holga isnt 'real' photography... weird indeed seeing as the name of my degree is 'photographic arts'!!

These images arent part of any particular project, just an ongoing one of me and my holga :) though there are underlying themes in my work, though i wont bore you with them. i like that holgas have an air of mystery :)

Im trying now to produce one holga a week that i like, thats my wish for 2009 :)

Hello and welcome..first let me say I love the colors in your work..especially the last one..I am sure you will enjoy it here as much as I do..I am "relatively" new also and have been made to feel like I am a part of the whole "filmwasters" family ..... as far as the Holga thing goes.....isn't it a part and parcel of creating our own art?

aww thankyou so much everyone!! :) re colour... i do like using colour... i seem to have got my hands on the most magical holga which produces the most amazing colours, it surprises me every time! I love printing my contact sheets and seeing all these little bright squares.  I do play around with different film types a lot just to see what happens :)

A belated 'hello' from me too. Wilkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome...as they say in 'Cabaret'. Love the work you've posted to date.

Hi, and welcome to Filmwasters from another newbie.

I really like the work you've shown here. I agree with Becky I love the third shot of the initial batch - great stuff. I suggest you show the degree examiners how wrong they were by going on and producing even better work with your Holga.

Good luck,
Nigel
