era film, ever heard of it?
« on: February 07, 2009, 11:23:55 AM »
Ive just got myself some Era sheet film,  ?7.60 for 25 sheets brand new.      Arrived today with uber cool. taiwanese junk mail flyers....I always like stuff like that.....see how the others live.

Anyway  anyone got any expereince of this film?   I just bought it to test my new cambo as its a lot cheaper than 5 x 4 film from ilford.

i've used the 35mm ERA film. i quite like it. The film is from china(like lucky and shanghai gp3). Did you get it from someone in taiwan? It'd be funny if it was the same person i bought mine from.  i've not shot the 4X5 film, but i seem to recall someone here has(maybe becky?).

Yep, I've used it and mentioned it here in the past.
I like it a lot and think it shoots similar to Kodak films....at least the 4 x 5 does for me.
I buy it from the same guy in China each time--- who ships it out the same day I order so I get it in usually less than a week.

All of my B7W pinhole 4 x5 stuff is done with it.

Good luck!   :)

i think it may be an old kodak formula actually. it seems i've heard that about a lot of the chinese films.

Era in 35mm is THE BEST film I have ever used. Really. Wonderful tones in Rodinal.

Absolutely so ... Era 4x5 and Rodinal were made for each other.

I might try some but it seems like it's about the same price as fomapan 200 (and a few quid more than fomapan100) which I can pick up at silverprint.
