September 2010
Center For Fine Art Photography - Natural World, anybody anywhere can enter. This is a great organization that I recently joined. I love what they are doing for new and existing photographers.
http://www.c4fap.org/cfe/2010NaturalWorld/index.aspHolgapalooza - extended deadline ends tomorrow, categories are roadside attractions, critters, and nudes. Shots must be taken with a Holga of some form, see the rules for more specifics. Anybody anywhere can enter, only 5 dollars US per image and some of the prizes are pretty cool.
http://www.holgapalooza.com/And here are a few of the more commercial calls. The prizes are fantastic but these contests get thousands and thousands of entries.
World in Focus - NatGeo and PDN, totally legit contest with some pretty amazing prizes but I think it would be like winning the lottery with this one. Anybody anywhere can enter. I forget the price per image. Deadline has been extended for two more days.
http://www.worldinfocuscontest.com/JPG, One Life - Commercial calls getting thousands of entries. The judges are well known and the prize is amazing, but I see only one prize, the grand prize, so again, another lottery type of calls.
http://www.onelifephotos.com/jpg/?f=jpg1Gala Awards - Photography organization that has ongoing calls for entry and they have a few going on right now so I will just include the general website addy. You can join or just enter. So far I havent seen any rules excluding anybody from anywhere. I have submitted images to several of their calls. I like what they are doing but I do wish that they would work a little harder to make their emails look more professional. It makes me wonder about their legitimacy, but with jurors like Mary Ellen Mark and Kim Weston, its hard to think of them as anything but legit.
http://www.thegalaawards.net/I will post more as I get them, with the most current at the top.
