Zeiss Ikon is back...
« on: June 16, 2006, 10:50:44 PM »
I was at the news stand when, looking through a French magazine, I noticed that Zeiss Ikon is back!
And their new camera is quite surprising. It is a 35mm rangefinder with Leica M lens mount.
Compatible with Leica lenses.
Haven't read the full article but it looks promising. Especially if they release Zeiss lenses that fit the Leica.

Film is the vinyl record of photography.

there was a nice review on it in a recent issue of Black & White Photography (UK). It was either the April or May issue.

They've just announced a new version of the classic 50/1.5 Sonnar in M-mount too, in addidtion to the 50/2 Planar - fairly surprising thing to do given the state of the film camera market and how much of a niche product rangefinders are anyway...
