WHAT DID YOU SHOOT THIS WEEKEND!!??!?!
« on: October 12, 2008, 07:55:08 PM »
Just thought I'd pump things up a bit and yell at everyone.
The weather is perfect, but I was feeling kind of lazy so I just wandered around some of the seedier parts of west Phoenix. Some polas here. Also shot some film, but haven't developed yet. And half a roll through my new bbf, which is kind of a weird camera to use. anyway, anyone else do anything of interest?

I like the first and last ones.  How did you get that color border effect on the last one?

Mine is here:

I tried to take a picture of my cat, Keira, but she ran away at last minute! Other than that, nothing, because I've been in work all weekend.

I've been mostly printing cyanotype postcards for an exchange elsewhere... and my cyanotype christmas cards which is a snowy scene from that oh so wintery time of year known as April here in the UK. Sometime I'll do some shooting... I've been gathering more weird trinkets for still life pictures.

Still working on the weekends photos, wasted a lot of film lately but finding it difficult to get time to print the images. Did a mad one day trip to Venice on Wednesday, being October thought it would be quiet but it was manic. Anyway here are two images from the trip.

Love those Venice pictures, especially the first... wish I could go! We had a three day weekend, and we are in full halloween preparations...

Shooting-wise I was all about digi family snaps in the garden. The weather in London was gorgeous. Snow in April. Lunch in the garden in shorts an t-shirts in mid-October. None of it makes sense any more!

On the photo-related front however, I managed to process a load more snaps from the wedding I attended a month ago and sent them off to the happy couple. Here's a very slightly cropped Holga moment that I liked a lot.

Loved the Phoenix shots, Sean.
Eddie...why one day?

I treated myself to a new toy a while ago - a Horizon panoramic camera.  I had a "20% off any fleabay purchase" paypal voucher burning a hole in my pocket, and was supposed to be looking for a nice MF TLR (well, nicer than a lubitel) but ended up blowing more than I've ever spent on a (film) camera on the Horizon  ??? Oh well! These things happen.  Finally got round to running a 12 exp test roll through it (with the wide format I only got 6 shots though!) Everything seems to be working! I think/hope the slight blotchy sky is due to my rather aging blix rather than the camera pan mechanism

Also dev'd another test roll while I was at it, this time from a Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim I modified with to give a much wider aperture.  Kinda did what I had hoped, narrowed the depth of field severely, the focus point is pretty close to the camera which caught me out but hopefully on the next roll I'll have more than one shot which has at least something in focus!

Nice.

Please tell us more about the Vivitar aperture mod.

i've been wanting a horizon for awhile, but i'm going on a camera-buying hiatus. and a polaroid film-buying hiatus. i have enough to last me a long while... (this'll make skorj jealous - i snagged 18 boxes of 665 on ebay for $52! it was mislabeled as 664!)

Great photos, everyone.

Nic, some of those playground-y snaps would benefit from not being shown as a group...er, maybe. If that makes sense. Great feel to them.

Sean....great haul on the 665 front. Wow!

Haven't been doing much at all for the last few weeks but couldn't resist the low autumn sun in the garden and loaded some colour (can't remember when I last used colour) and spent 10 minutes shooting these.

Another great thread full of super nice pictures. Suzanne, I love yours. I like work like that. Good job everyone. I am hit and miss of late...lazy, tired...working during the week...managed to shoot some polaroid here and there. I found my batism shoes while cleaning my room and took a shot with the SX70...only to convert to b/w. I have the slip worn under my dress and want to try and figure out how best to shoot it...

Shot this on October but, didn't want to post it on WTCD thread - as I used the Hassie.
