Squeezable jelly camera
« on: September 25, 2008, 05:12:21 PM »
This looks fun/cheap/bonkers!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/35mm-Film-Toy-Camera-Jelly-Feel-Squeezable-Body-Lomo_W0QQitemZ180292931156QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item180292931156&_trkparms=72%3A1300|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Might be a giggle for seven quid.  Looks like you squeeze some part of the camera to fire the shutter!

Byeeeee,

Yup- I got one of those for my nephew who is three! He loves it and it's nearly indestructible even for a three year old!

I have one of those (without the flower).
Shutter is somewhat hard to press since it is made of a type of vinyl and not jelly material.
Lens is also surprisingly good. No vignetting on mine.

Maybe Ed should get one for Joe so he doesn't need to chew on the swing chain anymore.

Should be easier on the little teeth.
 :) :)

For only another four quid there's this  :)

Would probably improve my photos, if only of fish!

And it would add authenticity to the camera (making it slightly slimy  :P )

I bought a digital version for my boy. Although it is suppose to be a squeezable cam, the shutter button is on top (like a normal cam). Only problem is you have to squeeze press quite a bit to fire. I originally thought by squeezeing anywhere, the cam will fire .... duh!  >:(

Cool! I'm always interested in any excuse to consider buying a camera...even a jelly-cam.

When I saw it in a flyer, I couldn't resist getting one. At first I thought it would be soft jelly material, but it sadly isn't.

It isn't...but it should be! That would be a very interesting camera if that were the case...

I think it has to do with the fact that the product is aimed at kids which could rip through the jelly material and put it in their mouth. Jelly material has been banned from kids toys because of both choking hazards and the fact that it contains chemicals (phtalates) which interact with the hormonal balance (not good).
