Mato Ofuro.

Three hours north of Tokyo is an abandoned mining town. The public ofuro, overlooking the river, with lots of natural light draws me back every time...

(Polaroid 600SE with well-expired Type-667.)

excellent stuff as always... the last two in particular do it for me. you'll have to grab one of those posters for me!

i wish i could get inside abandoned stuff more often. it's tough to do here.

Ditto. I was hoping you were going to post that super great fourth frame. That is something else. They all are. That second frame is a bit unusual. Sort of like you shot that upside down right side up or vice versa. You get the idea. Very cool work sir...

Fantastic. I wish I could find places like that. Great work Skorj. I should get my 600SE out and about a bit more...

All the abandoned places around here have too much graffiti or snakes crawling around the walls.

Does the train go to this place?

Wow! I get a wonderful feeling of tranquility from looking at these. I love the grain and the DOF effects. Love the 2nd shot, but really, they're all marvellous.

Tempting! But, this is Japan, and they have hung there since about 1979 untouched, so that's the way we leave things. Because of this, you can wander most places with appropriate respect.

This was the native 75mm. Sometimes it works, other times not. I often wish it was wider, but am usually happy with what it gives. I know you have the same lens... One more from it below where you can see the wide effect a bit better.

Sometimes! A One-Man diesel car that trundles up the hill a few times a day. A great ride it is too. That's another photo story though.

It is a tranquil place. Some abandoned places, you can feel 'off', but it always feels nice and familiar here...
