Topic: Carrying powdered developer through Customs

Now this might qualify as a very strange question, but I am wondering whether any of you have carried any powder developer in your luggage while going through customs/security at airports or the Eurostar?

I am wondering if you have had any hassle? Like, "what is that strange white powder, please wait while we carry out an analysis, etc.etc."

The reason is, I am bidding on a batch of Diafine from an eBay seller in Holland. The postage he wants to charge to send the stuff to the UK is quite horrendous so I thought of getting him to send it to a Dutch friend, whom I'm seeing in a few weeks anyway. Then I thought I'd just pick up the Diafine then and travel back via the Eurostar. But I don't want to get held up for being a suspected drug smuggler.

Any ideas? Thoughts?

I'd assume that as long as it is still in the sealed packaging there would be no problem... but don't hold me to that if you end up in the brick.

As a frequent traveler to a wide variety of destinations, carrying a wide variety of stuff, I can safely tell you this very simple rule:

Act like you're carrying developer - no problems.
Act like you're carrying white power - have a guess.

Apologies if I'm telling you something you already know, but Silverprint and Mr Cad sell Diafine (but I've no idea of stock levels).

as a frequent smuggle of large quantities of banned substances i find the best way is to conceal it in a few condoms and then swallow it in pellets, a grown man can pack as many as 80 away  -which should be sufficient for your developer.

if your not keen on this idea, employ a few "mules"
