Anyone fancy a chinwag in London?
« on: December 11, 2007, 05:22:17 PM »
In a vague attempt to think beyond the end of 2007, and prematurely stave off the January blues, I was wondering whether any Filmwasters might like to meet up in London sometime in January? We could show a few prints, down a few espresso (or something stronger), and generally have a fine old chit-chat. I wasn't thinking of a picture-taking expedition (although cameras wouldn't be banned, of course) as much as an informal gathering in a cosy pub/cafe somewhere.

Consulting my smart (and somewhat empty) new 2008 diary, I was going to kick off with Sunday 20th, or Saturday 26th/Sunday 27th as suggestions. Any thoughts?  :)

sounds good to me - although I'd have to plump for the 26/27 weekend.  20th is the Helen's birthday so not sure I could convince her a trip to london to talk about photography would be a good idea .....

I'm up for a meet - I think I could do either dates...

I do have a few mud pie shots from Seasalter I could show. Plus some new platinum/palladium stuff if you fancy seeing that...

Not only that, I still owe you the postage fee for the Hanemooly stuff.

Shall we say Sunday 27th then? Time and place to be decided nearer the time? (Suggestions of suitable meeting places from London dwellers most welcome.)

I'm in. Sunday 27th is good. Ailsa, why not meet up at the Photographers' Gallery and take it from there? We may never leave the premises, but that won't be a problem, surely?

Due to an unexpected Christmas present, I can no longer make Sunday 27th, but Saturday 26th is do-able. Can others make the Saturday instead? Sorry to be a pain...  ::)

Looking forward to it. Especially as I celebrate a little 50th birthday the next day, so a little present of a book or three might have to find its way into my bag whilst I'm there.

Luverly. Looks like we should have a nice little gang. And there's nothing better than being around a bunch of fellow 'pushers' to justify handing over the credit card in the bookshop...  8)

Janet too!! Excellent news.

I've arranged for Granny to come and look after the kids, so I can escape the house without a guilty conscience. I may have to leave my 'flexible friend' at home though. That bookshop is the Devil. Get thee behind me.

I agree - you should probably leave your acquaintances out of this.

Now why did you have to spoil it... Kenna's new book. Oh dear. That means my flexible friend will get even more of a grump on.

Oooh can I come, can I come??

I may have to meet someone (obligatory) on Saturday but if I can make it, I'll pop in and say hello. I don't think I've met any filmwaster in London before.

Can't make it to this one, I'm afraid... :( Could not get out of a lunch appointment that I arranged a while earlier, so it looks like I'll only catch you all next time there is a similar meet-up.

Have fun,
