In this free, one hour virtual presentation, Justin Quinnell will discuss the history and science of pinhole photography, as well as contemporary approaches to it. He will also discuss his own work which, in over 35 years, has led from Stonehenge to Hollywood, and from using a small ‘Smileycam' pinhole camera (which takes photographs from inside his mouth), to a giant trash can (which doesn’t).

A Q&A will follow Justin’s informative and entertaining Presentation. This FREE event will be held via Zoom. Please register to get the Zoom link (it will be emailed out to all registrants before the event).

Justin was born and lives in Bristol, in the UK and has a degree in fine art photography from Derby Lonsdale College. He is considered to be one of the world’s experts in pinhole photography and camera obscuras which he has practiced and taught for over 35 years, at all levels, from primary to university. He has an extensive portfolio of work, but is known worldwide for Mouthpiece, where he used a small pinhole camera to take pictures from inside his mouth, and Slow Light, a series of 6-month duration exposures.

And he has been the UK publicist for WorldPinhole Day since its beginning 21 years ago.

I was on it live and asked a few questions on the chat.
It was weird because I had one of déja vu feeling all along.

I personally was a bit disappointed that it finished early and there wasn't much viewer interaction.
