Visit Polaroid in Holland

For those who love industrial visits, this is super fun!
Ben Fraternale had a chance to visit the Polaroid factory and he's taking us along.

It's 40 minutes of Polaroid goodness.
And you'll finally get to know why the new packs only have 8 shots in them instead of the traditional 10. 😉

Film is the vinyl record of photography.

Thanks Francois, very nice! I knew the reason for the number of shots in the packs, but then I'm one of the original Impossible Pioneers (still got my black metal member card). One thing I learnt from this video is that two identical Polaroid cameras; let's say two Supercolor 635CL, can produce slightly different shots due to the pressure of the rollers. Obviously the layer of developer will be thicker or thinner due to this pressure, maybe that's why you sometimes see shots that are not properly developed at the top. Really complicated process to make these films!

If you want to change your photographs, you need to change cameras.

What I liked is how not obvious these things are when you start looking at the details, yet it's all well hidden behind a nice white border.
