It's the weekend! June 4 - 6, 2021

This is like the prints I sent out for the post card exchange, just a different bug.  It's a water scorpion from an antique microscope slide made about 100 years ago.  It's the same process as the post cards, I put the microscope slide in my enlarger and printed it as a negative.  Technically no film was wasted, just some Ilford RC paper.

This was almost my postcard image, but in the end I went with another shot that I thought worked better in a small print.

Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

I feel like there's something missing in this picture, but I cannot put my finger on it.  ;)

A couple from a yard I pass often and never have time to sop and take some shots.

A bit of a rush job (fresh Superia Extra 400, developed and scanned by my local lab in an hour) after an XR Carnival in town today...

a cyanotype print I made yesterday from a photo made earlier this year during a short trip up the road where the Aspens grow.
Santa Barbara pinhole camera with 4 x 5 cat labs film dunked in caffenol, then contact printed in the sun for 70 minutes for the cyanotype print. Rinsed in plain water then rinsed in hydrogen peroxide to bring out more blue.

Since I had asked about 4 x 6 printers, it occurred to me that I had the ruby (sapphire in this case) slippers all along and could just do a cyanotype sometimes....

Serendipitously I made this before I watched that cyanotype movie...

Thanks Becky, I'm keeping a few for myself, also made a few 5X7 instead of the post card size.  I sent my nephew one instead of a birthday card this year, he enjoys this stuff.  The one I posted above would have gone out for the post card exchange except I didn't have that slide until after I sent everything out.  Now I'm looking at microscope slides to buy based on how well I think they'll print.
