Ilford brings back the Sprite 35
« on: December 16, 2020, 04:33:33 PM »
Just saw this
https://www.diyphotography.net/ilford-revives-its-1960s-sprite-35-film-camera-after-60-years/

Ilford brings back the Sprite 35 point & shoot camera... sort of.
While the name remain the same, the look is completely different. Though I should say that the new one does look good (but not as funky as the original).
It's priced to compete with Kodak's recent offerings.

For those in the US B&H is selling the Ilford Harman reusable with much the same specifications for 29.50 including two 36exp rolls of B&W film. Order up enough extra film to bring the total to $49+ and shipping is free. Don’t know long they will have these, they could perhaps be discontinued with this new item introduction. But, right now a much better deal than this new camera.

I saw this and thought it might be interesting to load with fast b&w and to do some street photography.  Should be fun!

Definitely.

One of the things I like is that it still looks good while being unobtrusive.
Also, the price is cheaper than the price of the Dubblefilm Show...

You're right about that.
Somehow I really miss the retro-futuristic look of those old tv shows. I just wish we lived more in a Jetsons world...
