Weekend - November 20 to 22, 2020
« on: November 20, 2020, 07:51:20 PM »
More shots from the Oregon wildfires.  This was a small fire near Oregon City.  The property owner had a large collection of classic vehicles that were all destroyed.  I doubt they were in great condition to begin with.

Leica IIIf with a pre-war un-coated Summitar 5cm f/2 lens.  This is a new camera/lens that I got recently which happened to be loaded with a roll of film.  Not knowing what the film was I assumed around ISO 100.  Most of these were shot wide open or close to that, it was a dark cloudy day.  I developed the film in beer hoping to find out what the film is from the edge markings but there are none.  The seller included two other rolls of film in FILCA cassettes that he thought were HP5 or FP4 so I'm guessing this was FP4.  Does bulk FP4 film have edge markings?

Most of the bulk film I use do not have edge markings, some have frame numbers. Whatever it was, the result looks good.  :)

Here's a couple of evening shots from downtown.

those cars, man that's sad and you are probably correct about them being in bad shape pre fire....but sad no less.

Mines a weirdo pinhole shot that I developed in caffenol that had some odd bubble things on the negs after developing.
Since i scan everything in color, I just decided to leave it this way for effect....kind of light lightning bugs I guess.
Anyway, glad to be here and still covid free.

Here's a rare one from me.
It came from my new Photoblaster. I'm surprised at the quality but the small negatives do push your scanner to the max.
I've been sitting on this negative for some time as it was too short to warrant a full developing tank of chemicals. In the end I developed it in total darkness using a small Tupperware container.

Found a few photos from six months ago that I'd forgotten about. Probably the last roll I shot and developed, now that I think about it.

Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

California has big trees.

This was taken in Henry Cowell state park. Though the park did sustain some damage during this year's fire season, the redwoods themselves are notoriously fire-resistant. Some of them are 1,800 years old.
