Here they mostly just open the door for a bit of privacy and let it fly.
Construction workers most often just pee on the side of people's houses.
And then there are the odd stories, like the one I heard years ago while chatting with the security team at the Canadian Center for Architecture.
They have a bunch of cameras everywhere around the museum, including some close to the ground. And all of them are pretty well hidden. They told me that one morning, one of the cameras turned on. Everybody was trying to figure out what the heck the large butterfly they were seeing was... until it got further away and it turned-out that it was a lady taking a wee... I still don't know if anyone took screen grabs of the scene...
That's one of the advantages to living in the Pacific Northwest, lots of vegetation to hide behind.
I must admit, in a way I'm enjoying being home for an extended period of time. I've been home for just under 4 months after two months working out of town. Normally this time of the year I would be gone somewhere. Add to that I'm working from home, I've only gone to the office a few times and it's only a few miles from my house. I've had time to do a lot of projects around the house as well as photography stuff. I've done a lot of landscaping, my yard hasn't looked this good in a few years. We've gotten rid of a lot of stuff we don't need anymore, even a camera or two. I've spent a lot of time with my wife and my dogs.
There are things we miss like going out to restaurants and having friends over. I have had a few small outdoor gatherings that followed social distancing rules. We had a few outdoor movie nights with some neighbors, everyone had a plot of my lawn that was at least 10 feet of separation. Everyone brought their own chairs, booze and popcorn. We were close enough to chat and then enjoy the movie.
I'm sure I will be heading out of town soon for work which is kind of scary. I will likely be going to an area that is currently surging with new cases because people aren't taking the virus seriously. We have strict procedures we have to follow for both travel and site work but you can't avoid mixing with the local community to a certain extent. Plus you have to trust everyone you are working with to the take the proper precautions. Fortunately the work we will be doing will require the crew to wear respirators and other protective equipment all day so they will be safer at work than whatever they are doing after hours.
