E6 processing is fun! I've enjoyed getting to know the ins and outs and the results are pleasing to me, especially when holding them up to the sky like I did when I was a kid.
Dropping and breaking your beloved Makina though - not recommended. Let's keep our excitement under control, shall we?

Jeff... That sucks (the camera thing). The slides look pretty sweet. Have you gotten any more magenta-ish tint on them?
This one is from this past Fall season. Kodak Tmax 100 (expired, around 2 years), Canon EF 50mm 1.8 + Tiffen #8 Yellow Filter... My first and only time using a contrast filter so far.

This one is from a roll of Ektar I shot last summer. I didn't realize I had set the camera to do a double-exposure (I just wanted to get the clouds), and then back at home, my roommate turned the light on the hallway and it came in through the door, hitting the negative as I was loading it into the reel. On top of that, the chems were pretty much exhausted, and I overheated them to around 110F. As you can see, I didn't even bother cleaning the dry marks. ::)

I had my backpack and camera strapped on the same shoulder, and tried to put down my backpack, forgetting that my you-know-what was hanging there too. It landed face down unfortunately, but at least the lens cap was on. Ah well, live and learn.
This roll - only my second E6 so what do I know - turned out much better than the first. The first roll used expired film and questionable technique with bad temperature control. This time the film was fresh and my technique was better but still the temperature thing needs improving. The results are much better than before and the colors are very close to what I remember, except more vivid. With C41 I have to go looking for the color after I scan negatives due to a lack of saturation, but with E6 if anything I have to turn the saturation down, a nice change of pace.
Oh and the yellow filter is always on my camera, the lightest one. In Philly there are so few clouds that when one is in the bright sky I want to see it on the film. :-)

Jeff, I'm so sorry that you dropped your Makina. Has it survived in a repairable state? Good job with the E6 development, the colours look great.
Miguel, I like the skyline. Good choice to pick the yellow filter. Yellow is great for overcast days. If there're still blue spots between the clouds, you could try an orange filter as well. Learned that from O2Pilot. :)
Great contributions everyone. Here're my shots for this weekend:
Camera: Canon F-1, lens: Canon 85mm f/1.8 (if I remember correctly}. The film I used is Fomapan 100 developed in Fomadon LQN. For the trees I used a red filter, for the stump an orange filter.

Thanks, I'm really enjoying the colors. I'm learning E6 in preparation for the new Ektachrome that hopefully will be available this year (but only in 35mm at first). But I must say this Provia is wonderful film, especially in medium format.
The camera is definitely repairable, and will depart tomorrow for a Makina specialist.

The Choupal National Forest in Coimbra, Portugal is a fine place to walk on a sunny January day. In addition to relaxing hikes along the Mondego River or along the canal that regulates water supply for the adjoining agriculture fields, one can enjoy the interpretive trails in the wetlands, in the forest, and at this former farm where they have put together a collection of the various types of wells used in agriculture from early human history to the present in Portugal. These three were of a type of well used for about 150 years until very recent times. All three photos were made in an Olympus OM1 with a 50mm Zuiko lens on Arista EDU 100, developed in RO9 1:100, semi-stand.

First film of the year: decided to experiment with grain this grey January so exposed HP5+ at 3200asa then developed in Rodinal 1+25 for 18mins. Leica M3 and 135mm tele-elmar. I like the effect, I may try pushing other films to see what comes out. It's not a bad thing to do when I'm taking photos of familiar, local objects, especially when they're as photogenic as the Thames Barrier.

I love Jeff's colors and 02Pilot's black and whites :D Mine was taken on a camera lent to me by Miguel, a Fujica Compact 35, about which I will be asking some questions in a separate thread if I ever get around to it ;) Tri-X guess-metered at about 400 :D

Dropping a Makina! That has got to hurt.
Reminds me of a story a Fuji rep once told me at the dawn of screens on the back of d*g*t*l cameras. Most common reason for camera replacement? Not upgrade, but people dropping cameras while showing the screen to friends. At least that is something which shouldn't trouble the good folk at FW.
Hope the Makina can be coaxed back into service.
