Title: Weekend March 24 - 26
Post by: Bryan on March 24, 2017, 03:02:56 PM
Let's get the weekend started.  Leica IIIa with a Leitz Elmar 5cm f/3.5 lens on Ilford Delta 100 developed in Caffenol C-H (rs).

Theodore Roosevelt's hunting cabin at Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota.

Nice shots, Bryan!

Do you do any post-processing or add filters to your images, or that's how they come "straight" from the scanner?

Thanks,
Miguel.

Thanks Miguel, I use a camera to scan the negatives then I revers, adjust and clean the dust and blemishes in a program called Gimp.  I did use a yellow filter on the camera for both of these shots.

Very nice! I'll definitely have to play around with filters more often. I have a borrowed Hoya #25A red filter which I gave back this week... I'll have to check eBay and see if someone's selling a set for a decent price.

I am continuing to practice with my scanner - dug out some developed slide film from about 2 years ago.
This particular one I really liked - the saturated sky blew me away. First I thought it's the scan settings but looking at the film I guess it's due to exposure of the shadows, and sky got underexposed. The pictures show the back of a small tower holding the name signs of retailers at a mall / retail park. I liked the graphical impact.
I think: Nikon F60, Fuji Slide Film ISO100 (time expired a few years).

Great start to the weekend - but Diane's leather-clad biker gets the vote from me...!

A street scene that was tricky to meter from our trip to Bologna. Leica MP, 35mm Summicron and Ilford XP2 Super:

Hi everyone. I've been back on the coffee again this week and by that I mean staining Polaroid prints in instant coffee. Here are three of my daughter doing her thing.

Tachihara 5x4 field camera + expired Polacolor 125i. The strange purple cast which cuts the prints in half vertically is a new one one me after many years of shooting almost exclusively with expired Polacolor 125i.

Klaus, I really like that shot. Almost looks like the stylized prow of a ship from one of those interwar posters for the transatlantic liners.

Having said that, mine is a bit more literal take on the water theme. Canon L1, Nikkor 85/2, HP5+ in Caffenol C-H(RS):

Great Weekend!

And big boss Diane! Wow  ;D
Ed, your daughter is becomeing a little lady, lovely girl
Kai-san, I like the second one, beaufiful.

I went to Barcelona last weekend and startted playing with the little Ricoh GR1s, so some street photography here. Meanwhile shooting I could not avoid thinking abut the past street photography threat. I think I committed few transgressions  ::)

A couple more, taken yesterday. I'm still getting used to adjust the exposure compensation on the camera, as I shoot a box speed/meter recommendation 99% of the time.

Canon EOS 650, Canon EF 35-70mm.
Kodak Tri-X 400 developed with Ilfosol-3 for 9 minutes in a 1+14 dilution.

I tried my hand at doing a joiner on the computer. The negatives were scanned, but the joiner was made on a computer. First time I've done them like this.

Taken with my lovely Spotmatic, and a 55mm lens. Agfa Vista 200.

Miguel,

Your contribution works for me.  Perhaps because I spend most of my waking hours immersed in music, I see notes on a staff and I hear a whole-tone scale in your picture.

I look forward to seeing more.  Welcome to Filmwasters.

mine is from the weekend and a road trip to Texas..
spotmatic F with Fuji Natura 1600 and f/1.8 Takumar 55mm lens

I'm not sure I like the 1600 just yet. It seems okay in shade, but the problem is the Spotmatic only goes to 1000 shutter speed and at F/16, this means a lot of sunny 16 stuff...
anyway, the Spotmatic also has a bit of a leak, which I think was some gunk in the light seal track above the door...will do more testing.
In the meantime, here's my favorite mis-hap of the roll...a dog named Rosalinda that sensed the light leak.
Good dog!

Which is a point and shoot with what I would characterize as a "freakin' ridiculous" price point. What makes a p/s worth $500-$700?

According to Camerapedia they are rare, only marketed in Japan.  They also have a fast and wide lens (f/1.9, 24mm) for that type of camera but it doesn't sound like a very good lens.  I wouldn't pay that kind of money for it.

But since it's made for use in dark places, the fuzziness of the lens doesn't matter as much ;)
