Nice start to the weekend again. I've been too busy this week to make anything new, so I've raided some new scans of very old negs. Here's one of my favourites taken a few days before the great storm of 1987 with my trusty Nikon F2SB & 50mm 1.8, Ilford FP4.

Been a long time since I posted anything now. I still manage to get some rolls through the cameras, sadly it takes weeks or month for me to get them developed. So here's a photo from this winter.

I promised a boat, I was on a boat and got a wheel, helm or however it is called. It's from a little 90 years old ferry liner on the river neckar. Shot with the Polaroid Colorpack II on Fuji FP-100c, scan from recovered neg.

Btw, is that large format photography since the neg is 8 x 10 cm (about 3x4")?

The blue bottle in fact is the bottle that carries the fixer from my afghan box camera. It was a test shot that It ended interesting, especially on cyanotype :)

A few weeks ago I was gassing up my truck at the  gas station and I noticed this guy rocking out on the sidewalk. I went up to him and asked him "hey man you mind if I take a couple pictures of you rocking out? I really like the Pink Floyd T-shirt" it sounded like he was playing "comfortably numb" :o

A photo from my grandfather's Polaroid Automatic 210. There was a lot of early family memories taken with that camera. Got a battery, some film and took some shots.

Looking back on his old photo albums we took similar photos and I never saw these albums until he passed. I know he tried home film processing and I use some of his stuff from back then. I would have like to talk about his photography, but I know, it'd be the same old thing. Just would like to talk to him again.

Time to move on and see more sights, and things to be experienced and people to know and enjoy.  :)

Willing. He was just starting to pack up as I was approaching, and after a brief conversation obligingly reversed the process so I could take a couple shots.

Nice one Leonore. I feel your pain with the dust. I have often thought that I could save myself a lot of dusting around the house if I just got a couple of rolls of Portra 120, wet them down and hung them somewhere central. They would attract all of the dust that is currently settled on the furniture and bookcases. Then  I just toss them or sell them on Etsy as "decorative party favors". No more dusting! :)

I've actually been wondering for a while now whether you're a white girl or not. Now I know  ;)

In my defense, I didn't write, "I just can't, like, even!"

Yo.

"Like" is so versatile though. It can go in front of almost any word. Just ask my teenagers.

"Like I just can't even!"
"I like just can't even!"
"I just like can't even!"
"I just can't like even!"

I can hear any one of those coming out of the mouth of my 14 year-old. And those are only the single use permutations. How about "Like I just can't like even!" I start calling him Moon Unit when there are too many "like's". He doesn't "like" that. :)

Ha! Moon Unit :D

I had a student once who used "like" extra-grammatically 18 times in 30 seconds. My brain hurt a little after that. (And yes, her name was Brittany. It might have even been Brittney, which is marginally worse. And I beg of all of you who might have a daughter named Brittany - please make her an exception to the stereotype!)

But yes, it's a very flexible little word, isn't it? ;)

Never met Moon Unit, but I met Dweezil. He's a really really cool person, down to earth, and a huge gear head (he talked at me for 1/2 hour about a new amp circuit he's designing  ::) )

Woah, Zappa-tastic....!! I am in awe.  Frank was is one of my all-time guitar playing and kinda taking-the-p*ss sort of don't take yourself tooooo seriously and lets say it how it is and don't pull yer punches guys.  You can't go round writing tracks like "The Illinois Enema Bandit", "Cosmik Debris" and "Zomby Woof" without achieving cult status.... 8)

Dweezil and most of the band who played with Frank have done a show at London's Round House for the last couple of years.  I must see if I can get tickets is they come over here again.

Dweezil is a legitimately amazing guitar player. That same night he talked my head off about gear, he sat in with the band I was playing with and played the whole intro to Eruption spot-on. That's more of a party trick, of course, but well we were at a (benefit) party, so I guess it was called for :)

I think he inherited this from his dad. Frank had a company specializing in custom effects stacks.

As for Brittany, is this the one you were talking about
