: film for a polaroid 440?
: formica December 05, 2007, 06:19:48 AM
a friend of mine just picked up a polaroid 440 at a flea market. he said it uses 107 or 108 film both which i believe have been discontinued. are there other films it can use? according to this (http://www.angelfire.com/il/journaljourney/Polaroid-440.html) site it can use 669 among others, but wanted to double check before giving my friend advice.

Yes; 664, 667, 669, 665 (if the friend can find any on ebay or anywhere else at a reasonable price - the P/N films are the BEST instant films!) and the Fuji peel apart films such as FP-100C - beautiful crisp colour without the blue tint that the Polaroid colour films seem to have.

Pity that eh!

(But, if you want smooth, with accurate colors, then FP-100C is a great film...)

Skorj, thanks very much for that link - I heard of the camera just once before but didn't realise it was for packfilm.  It looks beautiful and takes a beautiful picture, going by the example.

I should of course have also mentioned type 672.  I have not used that film myself yet but hope to try it out soon.  Typhoon
