Becky I'm SO SORRY.  You are on the list. I got your name mixed up with Debbie :-[, after reading her newsletter, I made this list and put her name in instead of yours.
 Once again, sorry!
I'll amend the list on the thread and check with Sandeha that on the list, travelling with the camera, that I have put you in it correctly.

It's arrived with me and it seems to be all ok.
I had to wind it on, so we might have lost a frame.

Was I supposed to have a theme suggested by Paul, or have a misunderstood?

Glad to see it steadily doing the rounds. I hope everyone is having un with it. Yes Paul should have suggested a topic to shoot. there will be a surplus of frames left over so an occasional wind on shouldn't hurt.

Post by: Sandeha Lynch on September 13, 2019, 12:15:12 PM
I didn't check - can you trip the shutter without winding on?
If not, there should be no lost frames ... and no double exposures either.
Title: Re: The Traveling OLY
Post by: Francois on September 13, 2019, 01:52:44 PM
You need to wind on to cock the shutter.
Title: Re: The Traveling OLY
Post by: Nigel on September 13, 2019, 05:46:09 PM
I think the shutter tripped in the post. Nevermind, I'm sure we can run to another roll if needed.

My brain went to porridge, Nigel. Sorry. Theme for you (if you haven't shot one already) is "Backlit scenes". I didn't wind on after my last shot as I know it's easy for the shutter to trip in transit or when putting in / getting out of the box.

So, now I wish I hadn’t asked!

You’re too prepared, Paul. I want to say I won’t wind it on but chances are I’ll forget.  8)

I’ve forgotten who’s next on the list (I’m on the sofa and can’t move) but if it’s you could you DM your address?

OK, my four frames are in the can AND I remembered not to wind on after the last shot! Although trying to shoot 'backlit' (thanks Paul  ;) ) I'm likely to have four underexposed images. I'll try to get it in the post in the next day or so - over to Tony.

Arrived safely, now trying to make sense of the assignment from Kai-san. Adding a softie and time correct braided neck strap + a link to this forum/thread if any custom officer should find the camera interesting when entering the EU again.

Hi Guys
just a quick shout out to see if the camera is still doing the rounds now the world is in Lockdown or has it got lost in the post.
Last notification was that it was with Aksel in Norway. Hopefully all is okay with him and it'll resume its travels once CV19 restrictions has eased.

I know right now shipping is at an all time slow.
I've been waiting for a padded envelope to come from the US for about 4 weeks now and it's just been released by customs to travel in the country.

Sorry to everyone on here!

I took my snaps and packed it up, then life came in the way and I forgot all about it. Had it not been for a message from irv it would still be on my shelf.
Now, I will ship it out to the next on the list, early next week. Agin, my sincere apology for the delay!

Hi Aksel,

don't worry and no need to apologize. We are living in strange times. Most important your're well and so your family and friends.

A lot of people are using film cameras to slow down a bit, so there is no need for speed in this nice little collaboration. :-)

Cheers!

OMG... it wasn't lost by the postal service and sent on a world tour of bad destinations only to land in a Tibetan village where somebody carried it by horseback to a post office in a neighboring country where the package was seized by the customs officer and sent to a depot where it was inspected and found that it wasn't delivered to the right country only to be put back in the postal service where it traveled by rail to cross the continent so that it could be delivered in Austria...

Reminds me, I once sent a package for work that went to the Philipines instead of Philadelphia. It got lost somewhere in Manila and never turned up again.  :D

Hello guys!

I'm sorry for sabotaging the collaboration. The last months were really tough, a lot of troubling things happened, additional to the whole COVID-mess.

But the Oly is still in perfect condition and is ready for travelling once again!

@Manuel: only your address is still required  :D

Stay safe!Christian

Christian we are so glad that you are ok.
The camera is secondary to your personal life so please don't think that you put the project under any danger.
I have said for people to take their time when they received the camera, as I know we all have busy lives, the main thing is to have fun when using it. Hopefully if anyone is having a bit of a photographic slump using a different camera with a topic suggested by someone else will help.
Take care of yourself and your family, and we all look forward to brighter days ahead.

Hi all
I have had a conversation with a couple of guys in the project and due to personal reason they understandably wish to drop out of participating which isn't a problem.
Before the camera gets posted on all I would like to know, are the remaining people wishing to carrying on or due to the current situation should we curtail the project.
If you wish to carry on please post on here or send me a message.
Thanks

While I'm thinking about the theme Manuel has given me, I've cleaned up the top plate a little and re-painted the 'EE-2' as most of the paint was missing.

It's gained a couple of accessories while in my possession including a step up ring, a lens hood and a proper Olympus close-up lens.

I just shipped the camera to Grit and he has his assignment.  I hope I got the parallax correction right when I used the closeup filter.  If not I meant to do that  ;D

I reinforced the camera vault with gaffers tape so it should be quite challenging for the US Postal Service to destroy it but I know they are up for the challenge.

OK, my assignment is complete! Apologies, I took 5 frames by accident  :-[ - my excuse is that it's actually been forever and a day since I shot 35mm! The shutter is very quiet and I thought I hadn't tripped it, when in fact I had. But hopefully the photos turned out. One day I will actually learn how to use cameras! Anyway, the OLY is ready for its last photographer before returning home; I should have it in the mail by the end of next week.

UK customs have been pretty quick lately. I just got a package from Japan shipped five days ago by Fedex. But depends how you sent it and what value you put on it. Low value items generally get through quick.

Same thing here. It depends greatly on how it was shipped.
UPS and Fedex are the fastest. Purolator and Canada Post are the last two on the speed ratings.
And Canada Post is as slow as tar...

I have received a notice that the camera is at the sorting office waiting for me to pay the custom fee which I have just done. So hopefully it'll be in my house on Monday and I'll get the film off to get developed.

Hi everyone
Sorry I haven't been on much lately, my son just moved into a flat and we have been doing it up.
Anyway the roll was sent off to get developed and I have received it back.
So I'll get them scanned over the next couple of evenings and if you guys pm me their email, I'll get their shots to them, so they can edit them as they see fit, then we'll get them on a collab gallery

Hi all
I have emailed the negs which I think you took, from trying to work out what you shot, from the topic list, so hopefully you have all got the correct pics. There are some with marks on the negatives, which I would think could maybe from the roll being x-rayed so many times but I think they are able to be edited out.
If I have sent anyone the wrong ones give me a shout and I'll send the right ones.
I'll give it another week or so for those guys who haven't sent me their email address, to catch up, then we'll decide on a date to send to the collab gallery

Hi everyone.
I'll give it till next weekend 14/15th to hear from Sandeha, Paul, Nigel and Kia-San to get their pics to edit.
If I don't I'll do a basic clean up and we'll get all the shots posted somewhere.

You might be better to send them a message Irv as none have been around for a while. Paul especially hasn't been here since early last year. They should get an email if you send a message.

 Good idea- thanks Peter

Hi All
just a quick update. I managed to get hold of Ed - he is having a well desrerved holiday- and when he returns on monday between him and Satish they are going to do some jiggery-pokery and sort out the gallery to enable us to get the pics on there.

Hi to all who participated
Thanks to Satish who has done some work upgrading the gallery, we are ready to upload the pics for the Oly trip collaboration.
If you send your  photos to him via the  Filmwasters Gmail account (forumadmin@filmwasters.com ) and title the email "Collab", by
Please add  to the photo
1.Title
2. The theme given to you by your predecessor
3. A few sentences explaining how you've interpreted the theme.
4. You can put all 4 of your photos or as few as you like
5. Your website/blog/Flickr address that you'd like listed.

I will contact those who don't frequent the site much now, so I suggest to get your shots into  Satish by the 1st of November and we should be able to get them posted a week or so later.

Any thoughts on max res sizing? I think there were limits last time.

Just sent mine over. I wish I could remember the theme I was trying to interpret... Cities? Art? People? No idea really, looking back on them
