Two things you may like to know about Crystal Palace:

1. It is the name of the most rubbish football team in the UK.  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P

2. Crystal Palace Park is home to the Crystal Palace dinosaurs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_Palace_dinosaurs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_Palace_dinosaurs)
It's a fun place to wander around with a Holga...

What is that oversized forest creature doing to that tree?  It seems unnatural.

Fun place.

I wondered the same thing myself. I suppose extinction was never going to be far off if the creatures insisted on making that kind of schoolboy error on a regular basis.

I cannot recall the dinos, but is there still a caravan park there? We camped somewhere there in the 1970s... Erie place!

Is it the same place where once stood Queen Victoria's Crystal Palace for that famous World Exhibition?

Ailsa, if you want to turn this one around or at least got yourself some allies, I'm pretty sure that the mighty El Gordo of Weirdsville, USA also has some dinosaur snaps in his quite formiddable back catalogue. Seeing as how I'm a subscriber to the "if Gordon does it then it's cool" school of slathering appreciation I guess you could say I need to review my somewhat acerbic response to your fine dinosaur snaps from Crystal Palace.

I might even go as far as to say they're statuesque!!

As if things weren't bad enough, you now make me follow the links to a bunch of dinosaur pics that are clearly superior to mine in every conceivable way? And I was beginning to think you lot were my friends...  :-[  ::)

Hah!! You really should see how we treat people who we don't like/rate/appreciate.......stony, unforgiving, unrelenting and inpenetrable silence.

I think once it was referred to as 'tumbleweeds and crickets', but that was in another life  ;)

Anyway, at least now that Leon's pulled your coat re Gordon's dino-snaps you can stay with the "McWhinnie's Dino 2007" project AND have something to aim for. BTW, I actually liked your snaps a lot. Didn't mention that in my haste to stick the boot in, but they really are rather good.
