: Where to get Nikon lenses serviced?
: Aksel August 25, 2016, 10:19:35 AM
As the topic says, I`m looking for a reliable place to get a few ai & ais Nikon lenses serviced.
Did a quick search on the forum but nothing came up. I`m Oslo based so really, anywhere in the world would be fine, postage costs about the same. Locally they where asking $450 which is more than the value of the lens  :o

Many thanks!

Hi Aksel,

Are you talking about a general CLA or are there specific "issues" that need addressing with the lenses?  As a long-time Nikon user, I've had a few lenses CLA'd by Aperture on Rathbone Place in London.

Here's a link to their website "repairs" page:  http://www.apertureuk.com/Camera_Repairs_London.html (http://www.apertureuk.com/Camera_Repairs_London.html)

I don't know if the prices quoted are cheap or expensive (in relative terms) but they've always done good work for me.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks!
I need full cla, the have just been used extensively and are in their mid thirties now so it´s about time.
I`ll drop them a line and see what they say  :)

I not sure if they do servicing but if you phone them
( http://www.graysofwestminster.co.uk/welcome.php (http://www.graysofwestminster.co.uk/welcome.php) )
I'm sure that they could reccommend the best place. As Paul suggested Aperture are good but expensive I had my FTn and 50mm serviced (£120)there but the lens was to far gone for them to do anything with,

Great stuff irv_b & gsgary, I have dropped them both a line to check turnaround time and costs.
Hopefully my Nikon soon has a cleaner vision on things  ;)
