All I need is my my ONDU to arrive in the post.... er.... this morning & I'll be ready
-
Gotta pick a camera...!
-
Yep, that's the hard part !! ;)
-
I managed to get a few shots but that was tough, the weather was horrible today. Hopefully they turn out ok I'm using film that expired in 1965.
-
Missed it this year. :(
Spent a couple hours on a canyon walk with the Yashica 44LM though. :)
-
In the end I went for a holga that I had converted to pinhole previously and loaded up with some lovely fortepan 100 for the occation :)
Haha misread the meter I was using for one shot and exposed it for four minutes... Instead of four seconds as the meter adviced :P

Missed it. I had been converting a Lubitel (the gears slipped so it wasn't possible to accurately focus) to a pinhole, but I used a tiny drop of WD40 to loosen a tight screw, but some got on the shutter and jammed it.
I've heard soaking in lighter fuel can fix that, but as a non-smoker and with the decline in smoking and the rise of cheap disposable lighters I've not actually seen anywhere selling that for years!
I should try and get that sorted some time.

Be careful putting lighter fluid on the shutter blades, I have read that some have a coating that it will damage. That may be what happened when you got the WD40 on it.

Well, I loaded the Ondu 35mm yesterday, and I did technically take an exposure, but since it'll take me a while to finish the roll, I'm going to count this as Worldwide Pinhole Photography Week ;D

Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) works. You should be able to get that.

I know you can get lighter fluid at gas stations around here.
I can get it cheaper at a local warehouse that sells a lot to convenience stores and restaurants.

This is my submission:

Marina at Mike Wallace Park in Kingston, WA. Photographed with a Voightlander 116 roll film camera converted to a pinhole. The pinhole is 0.5mm diameter, I had it set at about a 135mm focal length which gave me f/270. The exposure was about 10 minutes. The film is Kodak Verichrome Pan VP-616 that expired in August, 1965. Developed in Beerenol (Rainier Beer).

My contribution
I find the irony of children clambering over these naval cannon turrets quite pleasing. The naval museum is next door (same building) as the national photography museum. The latter hosting the children's photography day, coinciding with WPPD. My kids got to take pinhole pictures, develop negs and make contact prints. They had a ball of a time. So did I.
