: Why I don't Throw Away Instant Film Packs
: Adam Doe April 17, 2016, 09:56:02 PM
They make neat frames for your pack film shots. You just need to pop the backs off, drill or use a hole punch to create a hole in the back, use some tape to adhere the photos in to keep them from shifting and then snap the back on.

My dad always did this with empty SX70 packs! I, of course, continue the tradition :)

That's pretty neat. And no waste either.

Best of all is it can also be done using an Instax back with just a few mods.

Put a couple of rollers and a motor with a timer in it with your 10 shots all taped together and you have an analog version of those fancy schmancy digital frames!  8)

Ha! I think I'd have to leave that up to someone with more DIY ingenuity, like Francois.

I was saving some so that I could possibly still use the cameras after my stock of pack film is gone.  I could cut down a 4x5 negative, insert it like you did and then have a single shot.

I have put single 4x5 sheets into my Land 900. It's kind of cool, but that's a bit of a boat anchor to lug around for one shot. I suppose I could reload in a bag, but if I'm going to carry all that stuff, I'll just take the Speed Graphic out.

I agree, probably something I would do once or twice.

you can put wet/dry plates into the pack film holders, or use the holders themselves as plates too if you wanted to once your pack film has gone...
