So hello to any new FW's who I haven't met, and hello to all the FW's I haven't bumped into for a while.

So last year, I went mad and decided to move flat, in fact we thought we would buy one. One of the core goals was to have a bit more space for doing FWing.

SO tonight I have managed to set up my scanner which has been in a box for 2 years and set up my light table for easier access. I also managed to get all of my rolls of B&W processed at Genie labs in Wandsworth before they stopped doing B&W. This is not a problem as I have enough space to process my own now as I use it.

The only other really phar quin cool thing to happen was my move into Large format via a Wista 45 folder and a 150mm lens. I bought it in about mid last year and have yet to take a shot with it - I was lucky to do any photography at all given the nature of my current job and the search, purchase and move to the new flat.

I am a little further away from Ed but a little closer to Leon, so swings and roundabouts as they say.

Anyway just wanted to pop in and say Hi for 2016, hope to pop in a little more often to.

 Cheers and Beers

Great to hear from you, Ken, and congrats on the new flat.  I presume, from your description of relative proximity to Ed and Leon that you're SE London / Kent-based?

I had a Wista Field Camera with a 150mm and liked it very much but, regrettably, didn't have the patience to really get to grips with it.  I've now got a Tutone and will be having another go.  Good luck with LF - it seems the way to go right now, especially if you fancy a dabble with New Type 55.

Best wishes for 2016 and hope we cross paths at a FW meet or at the next "Photographica" which will, no doubt, be around before we know it.

 Paul.

Good to have you back Ken!

Hi Ken, good to hear from you. I haven't managed to be around these parts too much recently, something I also hope to remedy in 2016.

If Paul's calculations are correct it makes you near me! A London based FWpub meetmeet up seems way overdue.  :)

Good to see the Binns contingent back to full strength Ken.    Look forward to seeing some of LF pictures from your Wista.

That sounds like a jolly good idea Nigel.

Great to hear your (virtual) dulcet tones again Ken. Yes, we must organise another FW outing so we can bathe in the the sound of your creaking biking leathers again ;)

Wotcha, Ken! Congrats on the new dwelling, mate...more room for hobbies is always a good thing. If you manage to get a pub meeting set up for the near future, I'll be dead keen to come along it would be brilliant to catch up with everyone and
I suspect that Nigel's been missing me like crazy....it's been ages ;)
-
So should I start a "lets find a pub in SE London/Kent to have a meet up in" thread?

I could go a shake of the January blues/ hello February type meet up

No doubt being creative I could make a link to film photography for the event.  :)

Great to have you back Ken! Moving and buying is quite a big effort isn't it? We moved in 1 1/2 years ago and I just managed to set up my darkroom.

 I've missed nothing more!  ::)

We do have a semi-regular meet in town and I'm struggling to remember the name ....  Paul will remember .. Is it near Moorgate?

How about Thursday (the new Friday) 28 Jan, does that suit?

......ah yes, "The Globe".  Quite a while since we've frequented this fine hostelry.  As I recall, it was also particularly convenient for Ed.  They also do some half-decent grub, upstairs, as well.

Definitely up for a London-centricblow-outdiscussion on the finer points of the Zone System, etc...   Any takers?

That's the one, I knew you'd remember. Well I'm in, anyone else?

-
				In.

-
				I'm in

However I think I am in Birmingham that day, might have to train it instead of drive so I end up back in the city and on the northern line

 cheers

I'm going to make a separate post for this so others see it. If Thursday 28th doesn't suit let me know, I'm easy.
