Lovely stuff, gents.
More from my neighbor's garden. This time I went there with my Gundlach Korona and some 4x5s of Ektar. I don't always like Ektar but these worked alright.

The last few I'll post from Saipan, until they send me back again. I brought my Bolsey 22 Rangefinder as a backup camera so I had to run at least one roll through it. Shot on Ektar 100.

Is that velvia done the proper E6 way? those colors are amazing!

Been lugging around with the RB67 in a town called Goes where they're having a mural festival. Gigant wall paintings. These are shot on RPX25. I really love that film. The sharpness, no grain, the contrast and it likes rodinal very much! Also done some on Velvia 50 that i've send out for propper development in stead of the cross processing that I normally do, hope to have it back next week.

Some outstanding work this weekend. Hard to pick a favourite but Kevin's "Poppies" and Paul's beach scene from Covehithe are sublime.
Mine are a pair from Bath. Nikon F6, 28-70mm f2.8, Tri-X (Ilfosol3 1+9) and given a slight sepia treatment in LR CC.
-
I love that last one! Makes me want to visit Bath :) Also looks slightly reminiscent of the abandoned "mystery building" in my neighborhood (look for it here (http://www.filmwasters.com/forum/index.php?topic=7867.msg104661)). Do you know what your building is used for?

It certainly is E6 Pete and a straight scan. It was early evening light that really did look like that.

How do you like the film? I *think* ive fixed my Kiev 60 so once I collect my lightmeter I will give the E4 stuff a go
Long exposures so far haven't given me any dramatic color shifts, but it does give me nice saturation (as you can see from this pic). Maybe that's a characteristic of all CN film? Not sure, but I'm definitely going to shoot the next roll with long exposures too :)
Have you decided how you're going to process the E4?

Just shot a test roll with the Kiev, all being well I will shoot the E4 and develop in low temp C41 chems
Depending how that goes I may try a low temp version of film acceleration on the other roll

I don't know why but these threads always make me want to travel and shoot more......

May I just ask, (since I am pretty new to this forum) what this repeating thread is really about (other than just posting pictures)? I am sure it makes perfect sense, but there is no explanation in the first posts... :-)

Paul, a glass lens!??!? BLASPHEMY!! ;D
I got out with scapevision the other night to shoot some night stuff. I did my first and last obligatory bridge highway shot.

It's sort of just about posting pictures, especially new ones, and having the weekend to see what folks have been up to.
-

Not sure why it would need an explanation? Photography is all about the pictures and every week we get to have a thread that celebrates that end goal.
-
Its juste for showing off and saying how we like some of the images...
Like Leonore's cat... I just love watching a cat sleep and am always amazed at how they always manage to take the best spot for napping...

For me it is about being inspired by the work of the others on this forum each week. This helps motivate me to go out and shoot and then put my best creative foot forward here on the weekend thread. It is also a launching pad for people who post in the photo essay forum to give a teaser here to let people know that there is something cool over there. There is a baseline activity in the Main Forum that is maybe more technical, but the weekend thread is where it's at for viewing a wide variety of very good photography from many people at once.
I have some Delta 100 souping now. Hopefully I will get them scanned today and post something before the weekend is over! :)

I just read an article about the latest research on cats. Apparently they spread a parasite that makes you like them better. :o
Scary stuff...........

I just read an article about the latest research on cats. Apparently they spread a parasite that makes you like them better. :o
Scary stuff...........
Actually true in a sense... but it has to do with crazy cat lady syndrome.
The parasite is actually carried by rodents. Cats eat rodents but are not affected by the parasite. The problem comes when we handle the litter box and don't wash our hands properly after that...
DNews has a good video on it on youtube.

This has good info, too: http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/toxoplasmosis/gen_info/faqs.html (http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/toxoplasmosis/gen_info/faqs.html)
The same parasite can be contracted by eating undercooked meat that was contaminated.
-
But we still love them anyways ;)
(and no, I don't have any pets...)

I thought the parasite (a protozoan, IIRC) causes changes in the brain which make the affected individual "bolder"; ie, less affected by danger stimuli. This causes the rats to be less cautious around cats, allowing the cats to catch (and eat) the rats, and thereby spread the disease.
But I'm not a doctor ;)
