In the weekend thread I asked "What is - behind - that door?". The rhythm of the question is a reminiscance of Laurie Andersons "What - is behind - that curtain?" from her record "Big Science". Please forgive me. I recently listened again to some of her songs after years.

It's the door of a greenhouse in our botanical garden. And here is what I photographed behind that door. All taken with Mona the homemade meniscus lens on Kodak Ektar 100.

The last one alone was worth the effort imo. Thanks for watching.

I love these closeups! And the dreamy vignetting of the meniscus lens! Thank you for sharing!

So many wonders in there Reinhold. Well done that a brilliant set of shots each one I could lok at for ages.
-
Thank you very much for your encouragement. Here's an updated album about the lens:

Those are really nicely done. The muted color rendering of the lens suits the subject well.

Very inspiring Reinhold. I think I have some old magnifiers lying around. Maybe I will make a nice soft lens. Then I will just need you to fly to San Diego and give me some composition lessons. ;D

You're a true fan, James. Thank you so much for all your appreciation here and elsewhere. Too bad that I'm very lazy and clumsy in commenting.
PS: I'm eagerly waiting for the return of the processed color films. Will probably take some more days. (edit: oops, belongs to the ironworks essay)
PPS: James, composing with the "toy lenses" is easy. Since the borders are mostly blurred, put the subject in the middle. I would love to go to San Diego, but I fear I won't make it in this life.

Nothing wrong with those - real stunners. Can't pick a favourite but I'd have a print of the Lily pads and the door on my wall any day.....

great character with that lens to lend its feel to these photos :)
