In view of the rapidly changing UI over on Flickr, I thought it might be helpful to have a thread dedicated to helping each other navigate. There is another thread dedicated to moaning about it which I regularly take part in, so if you want to do that, go there. This is for helpful tips.
Tip #1 when tagging photos, use double quotes for mulit-word tags (e.g. "crunchy frog").

Here's a tip that, so far, has saved my bacon when using my iPad 2 to work with Flickr images.
With the latest update to Flickr, my old iPad 2, running iOS7.x, wouldn't function anymore to highlight & copy HTML code from an image's "share" link in Flickr. Neither Safari or Chrome browser would work properly either, as if the tablet's touch-screen feature had been partially disabled. This is specific to embedded windows within a browser, and began to happen, intermittently, since the upgrade from iOS5 to 6, several years ago, but I'd since found workarounds.
This time, I ended up downloading the Puffin browser from the App Store, and it seems to work fine now. It also gives you some Flash capability. It appears to operate by means of a virtual Chrome desktop browser running from a server farm in California. I found this out because, after attempting to log into Google's Blogger via the Puffin browser, Google sent me a security message saying a Chrome browser from California had attempted a logon. The freeware version of Puffin doesn't function 24/7, while the pay version does.
I know this is only relevant for people using Flickr on the iPad, but there you are. BTW, the "Flickr" app for iOS is a POS, even dumber than the Safari/Chrome version.
Disclaimer: I have no interest financially or otherwise with the Puffin browser people, I'm only sharing my personal experience, after years of frustration using the iPad with Flickr.

The ?details=1 trick still works to get a real thumbnailed preview of a stream. E.g.:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/imagesfrugales/?details=1 (https://www.flickr.com/photos/imagesfrugales/?details=1)
In this view each page is limited to 18 thumbnails in my browser, saving data traffic and for a much better overview. It also looks like the loaded data for each displayed pic page is reduced slightly, but still hefty.
For your own stream you might choose the "edit" option under the "more" dropdown menu.

Well, this has now come to iOS 8 too. Neither Safari, nor Chrome are able to select/highlight the code. So there goes posting images here :(

You might be able to use the developer tools in Chrome to get the .jpg address of the photo while viewing the size you want. If you can copy that text and just paste it into a pair of img tags, it might work. I'd hate to see anyone stop posting photos because of a technical glitch.

That works fine for tha actual image, but does not link back to the flickr post (as flickr requires, but who cares now that they once again EFF YOU SEE KAY things up)! Apart from it being difficult for folks to see the image in larger sizes that is.

I suppose I will either have to attach the images in the post, or link to them from a Mac. But I will also file a complaint to Flickr, it has helped in the past. On one previous occasion the BBCode option disappeared altogether, and got re-instated by popular demand.

Tip: You can use some html tags for text formatting in your description. <b>, <i>, <u>, <s>, <strong>, <a> work, but not <font> or lists (<ul>, <ol>) or tables.

As I indicated above, the Puffin browser seems to work fine for iOS and Flickr, even with these recent changes (which was why I downloaded it). I suspect it works as a virtualized desktop Chrome browser running from a remote server.
