Title: Last week's Wetplate day

Me and a bunch of photographers friends celebrated last saturday the wetplate day here in Sao Paulo with a nice exibithion... this is my hand tinted ambrotype called "Ophelia"

That is beautiful!!! How does one hand-tint an ambrotype? (and, while I'm at it, what is an ambrotype?  :-[ )
