I headed up to smelLA to look at a couple of schools for my soon to be grad. Mostly we were in the Burbank/Van Nueys areas. Griffith Park is always worth a stop. I had been to the carousel there before, but this time I was loaded up with Portra in the S2a. It's an old carousel and is showing its age, but sometimes that makes it a bit more interesting.

They are doing some restoration of the paintings around the top.

Notice the paintings here consist mostly of rust.

Why is there always something terrifying on children's rides?

We were likely in LA on the same day! (I was there for a few hours on 4/2) I should let you know next time I'm there ... I didn't tell you I was in Santa Barbara because I figured it would be too far for us to plan to meet.
On the pictures: I love the long exposure/spinning blur shot (I'm a bit of a sucker for those) and the last face detail (also a sucker for detail shots)
-
Thanks Satish. It's fair for anyone to let me know when you are in the So. Cal area. Santa Barbara is a bit of a drive, but you never know. Of course on the other hand, there are FWs right here in San Diego that I have yet to meet up with. :(

Great series! My favourite is also the motion blur shot.
-
Thanks Manuel. I may have been hasty in selecting the photos to post here. I poked through them again today and there are others that have now grown on me more than these. That is sort of the way it goes with me. The ones I pass by initially, later become my favorites.
-
Well now we want to see them James, keep posting.

This one shows some of the up and down motion of the horses. I also like that the dome is in good focus. These were shot at f/22 for 1/2 sec. handheld.

This is more of a classic flying saucer carnival ride kind of shot.

Those long exposure shots are super cool! -I love the depth of field of shooting F22 (and up) both the fence and that cool roof are in good focus, with a flying saucer in between.
-
Those are amazing! :D
-
These are great, love the tone/colour is some of them

Nice vintage look with a new film and the long exposures are awesome.
