: Cool photos made with old Chinese Army film and paper

I think I have that right.

I'm generally not a fan of the current trend in low contrast desaturated color work.  Mainly because it all looks the same.  And also because most of the work is mediocre.  But this in interesting.  It has character.  And that character seems to derive in large part from the film and paper.

I must admit that the texture looks to be one of a kind (at least on my small tablet).
I wonder what type of process it is...

And thanks for the new site... Available in French to boot  ;)

I really like these photos. I wanted to get married there (UB), but bureaucracy got in the way. For me, the paper and the desaturated colour and contrast perfectly sum-up the environment. I agree with Hookstrapped that they are not for everything - they wouldn't work for Ibiza, for instance - but for the steppes? Just about perfect for me. Plus - it is such a cool mag - Ive subscribed and shall Waste for too much time going through their archives - I think it's well worth a look.
