: Bellows question for Sandeha (or anyone else who feels the urge to contribute)

I am contemplating making a tapered bellows which is square at the fat end and rectangular at the skinny end.

Is it at all possible, let alone advisable?

I don't see why it would be much different than a tapered bellows

Not a problem, Ezzie.  You just have to build a form to the right dimensions.

This Korona 5x7 has just that shape:

Thanks Sandeha. I will give it a go, and if I run into trouble I may have to ask your help.

Hi again

Very difficult to get hold of thin dark light-tight material over here. What I have is cream coloured. The question is whether or not it is a good idea to have the light tight material on the outside, rather than the inside. Saves having to paint it. I have a thin black material as well, for the other side, but it is not light tight.

If your ribs are black card and you can use a black poly-cotton for the liner, then it should be no problem at all if the outer light proof layer is cream coloured.  Avoid putting a shiny surface facing inwards, but it doesn't matter which fabric is internal or external.
