Title: IR proof/save bellows for Chamonix 45 F1
Post by: soeren on October 31, 2014, 08:14:10 AM
Just to make sure.
The Shen Hao Bellows will fit Chamonix cameras?
Shen Hao Bellows are IR proof/save?
But Where to get them? Trust worthy sources.
Best regards

Hi

Sorry cant answer if they fit a Chamonix  - but I have a Shen Hao and the bellows have been fine.  Its not my most used camera so hasn't exactly been put to the test but Ive had no problems with reliability.

I got the camera from Ebay  - but cant recall the seller as it was a few years ago now  - UK based seller.

Hope that helps

don't have an answer either to your question

you probably asking because you also have read (as did I) that the Chamonix bellows is not thick enough to be "IR proof"
the cheap solution to this problem, that I read is to purchase one of those Mylar emergency blankets. I am referring to those very thin blankets which are coated with a reflective coating on one side that is intended to keep you warm by reflecting the heat. Apparently if you drape this blanket over your bellows then it makes the bellows IR proof. I plan to try this but haven't yet. My Chamonix is the 45N1. They are wonderful light cameras.

That is a good way of keeping the IR out...

Thanks for the replies. Would be nice to know if all chamonix 45's share the same bellows mount.
Ill try the emergency blanket solution and see if it works out
Best regards
