Hey all,
Apologies if this has already been posted but Ilford is conducting a survey for film users and wants as much input as possible!
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Lomo (https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Lomo)
Thanks!

Hi Jen!
Long time no see!
I looked at the survey and there seems to be something afoot as Ilford is conducting a survey under the name Lomo...

Yes, that is odd...or perhaps Lomo is passing itself off as Ilford to promote responses by the More Serious film crowd...or Lomo and Ilford have been one and the same all along, and some employee just spilled the beans accidentally...so many possibilities...I'm sure they'll deny everything and all trace of the survey will disappear once they realize we're on to them. :P

Lomography ... lomographie ... lomographI ... Ilomograph ... Ilomograf ... Ilfomogra ... Ilformog ... Ilford ...?
-
I just completed it. Anything that helps promote the use of film as a result of companies like Ilford (or Lomo) understanding what we want from them can only be a good thing, IMO.

I didn't see the Lomo reference...
I liked the question about what got me into film photography. My answer: there was no alternative when I started, son.

:D
I also completed this survey, because unlike the last one posted here (Ferrania?), it did not require my email or other personal information in order to submit the results.

Look at the URL...

Mine was along similar lines: "No option - digital photography didn't exist in 1970" :o

I wonder what the age was of the person who set the questions. About 14 maybe.

For the "Which cameras do you use" I ticked way too many boxes.
Interesting they didn't ask which film you use, that seems an odd choice. :o
-
They only make B&W so they don't care
-
Seems this is more about their website than film.
"we will use your responses to become better at supplying the information that you want"
-
I put "Argus" as a camera I use. ;)
When I was in high school at the turn of the century Polaroid was my format, and a Electro 35 was my touchstone. The first digital camera I saw was on the Game Boy. Film was only available in my area, there was a LOT of it.

They already are supplying the film and paper and chemistry. Bear in mind, that young people, the future market of theirs, are internet generation rather and it is a good idea to create helpful website everyone can reach via cell phone at will. Like having interactive mentor right in the pocket. That will be perfect for young film wasters like the guy I met on Sunday at coffee shop. Nikon F in the hand, very little knowledge about film, but he is already pushing TriX at 1600. Looks like own thinking is out of fashion, for everything there is an answer on the net. Photography included. Good luck to Ilford.
