Hi,
I'm new to this site as i've only recently discovered the joys of vintage film cameras!
Can anyone tell me the approximate focus distance/range of a Coronet Commander 2?
Cheers
Shane

Hi Shane
Welcome to the forum. I'm afraid I don't know but luckily you've hit upon Ed's one area of expertise (still smarting over his jibes about my drinking prowess) I'm sure he'll have you an answer by the end of the day! :D

This is definitely Ed territory.
I'll see if I can't get his attention :)

Hiya :-) Sorry about taking my time to get back here & thanks for alerting me to the question....
This is an informed guess, but the mighty Coronet Commander is like most toy-ish cameras and will focus from about 85 centimeters to infinity. I discovered a long time ago that my arm is the exact length of the closest point of focus that I could get out of my old Holga and once I worked that out I used it as the 'rule of thumb/arm' for all other toy cameras and I never ran onto trouble.
Shane: Welcome to Filmwasters. The Commander is a fantastic UK camera; I hope you have a lot of fun with it.
Nigel: I'll be at the bar nursing a peach daiquiri.

85 centimeters? ??? I'd say more like 3 feet.
Okay I'm done being stupid.

Thanks Ed - I'm eager to get out soon, weather permiting, with the Commander and a roll or two of redscale 120.

Sean, as usual both of your points are completely valid ;)
Shane: Have fun!
