A small group of houses now really, suffering from erosion of the sandy cliffs so I thought I should take a few pics of the church. The main church of St Andrews was pulled down and left to decay many years ago and a smaller version erected but as you will see from one of the attached photos it too is in need of some TLC. All photos taken with my Bronica Etrsi on HP5 and home developed in ID11,

The one with the gravestone in front of the ruin was with off camera flash to camera left but didn't work as I had hoped as I obviously didn't close down enough to darken the background as I had planned. The final one in case you are confused is of the church tower from close in at the base looking up

Really nice set of photos, David.  I'm only in the next county south of you, so I might have to go have a look at this place...!!

Thanks, yes it is worth it for the church alone but follow the signposted path to the beach and there is a real emptiness to be captured. I say follow the signs as if you try any other way you may well end up bringing down another few yards of cliff!

I love that place but haven't been there for years, since I last went sea fishing with my dad (1980's) Great pics of the Church, might have to pay it a visit. Does the road still just disappear off the cliff?

I too have done a lot of sea fishing with my dad along the Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk coast. But can't remember being to Covehithe. Thank you stirring up fond memories though.

Yes the road does still disappear over the edge although its fenced off a fair way back, although that distance is getting less each year!

I love Covehithe and this church in particular. Sadly this church and the hamlet has limited time left and will go the same way as many small communities on that part of the coastline.
