A way to handle the grief? BW instant film is really something special and I've loved the look I've seen from both these films.

Please share shots you've taken and let them keep coming - it ain't over yet!!

Ask not for whom the bell tolls, Fuji 3000B.
 The bell tolls for thee.

I am so glad I kicked the habit. Too bad really. I loved the peeled side and making a muck every where I shot. That sounds dirty. So long, Fuji. You were good to me.

				Sweet images everyone  :)

Both are beautiful, I feel the fp3000b is less forgiving than the fp100b, and may be it does not produce such a wide dynamic range, but then you can shoot at night and day time with no grain..

Hey Thom! Long time no see!

Hey Francois, my absence from the forum has pretty much been due to my absence from film photography. I have had a busy year moving onto a boat, and starting a guitar pedal making 'business' though it is still in its early stages.

Things are starting to settle down now and I hope to get some more shoots done and upload some stuff to my long ignored flickr...

pretty much all I have been shooting this year is instant, have yet to scan any but plenty of 3000b and a bit of 100c... this is why this news is so devastating to me. though im sure it is to us all.

				A few more...

-
In a rather odd tribute to FP-3000B I finally tried something I had been wanting to do for a long time. I managed to get (for free) a set of color separation filters - Red 29, Green 61 and Blue 47B and made color separations on FP-3000B. I scanned the negatives and assembled it into a color image. The subject matter is just weird stuff I assembled for a test shot. You'll see some interesting color artifacts as the sun moved during my exposures.

Trichromy! Well done Poliweb! Much better result than when i tried. It's a fun process to play with.

Ooooohh, never heard about it, but then I have never heard of many things  :'(
-
I'd never heard of doing that either. Beautiful pictures, both of them. Poliweb's shot is wonderfully vibrant, and Adam's guitars may be more muted colors, but they still feel rich and warm, kind of creamy.

So it's not only a beautiful b&w emulsion, but you can also pull great colors out of it with those filters? And they're taking it away from us?? :'(
-
Trichrome cameras have been around for quite some time. They were even the first way to record color back in the day.

Here's a French blog dedicated to the process

Indeed this was the birth of color photography. I wanted to give it a try when I saw the photographs of Prokudin-Gorskii from early last century.

 http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/empire/ (http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/empire/)

I was amazed by the quality - and our ability to view them in a way that wasn't possible when they were created.

I may waste some more film on this, though probably not too much more FP3000B since it takes triple the number of shots!

what a great thread - fantastic samples all.

I have two packs of the 3000 "in stock" I have a little project in mind for it
but its a few months away yet.

I tried that trichrome technique before through the mamiya, bought simple
plastic filters for it . . . kind of worked, didnt pursue it in the end, I found
 it quite time consuming.

 more 100 and 3000b samples pleeeeese  8)

				So many beautiful images.
Feeling quite sad about it - I though about "going instant" for quite a long time, never done it and now I regret it.

 andrej - some land cameras [ie: 220, 230, 320, 330, 340, 420, 430, 440's]
are still very inexpensive, its not late to give it a blast !!

Do it, you know you want to ;)
I only 'went instant' this year because my father's 100 had been sitting on a shelf for far too many years and I was itching to try some emulsion lifts. I was hooked after my very first shot.
And the 3000B might be going away, but the 100C is still around and hopefully will be for a long time.
-
Now it´s the time Andrej! Buy a big bunch of fp3000b before it´s too late; it´s expensive but it will be much more expensive when it´s gone, which seems dangerously close. And if you don´t like it you can always sell your film later on, surely for a higher price..

-
OK, guys, I give in.. I'll have a look round. Could you point me to some site where there will be the cameras explained so that I know what to look for?
