Few days ago my friend´s life ended abruptly. Alex was his name, a kind spirit that endured life with energy and a big smile, always ready to embrace you with a big hug. He was also one of those photogenic persons; there was something in his eyes that attracted the spectator. I shot at him many times, you probably have already seen him. This goes to you my friend, I already miss you :'(

Really sorry for your loss, Carlos.
I lost my best friend in June this year and, from my experience, it takes a long time to come to terms with the loss and move on. I've found that remembering and celebrating the good things we shared is the best thing - rather than dwelling on how you feel right now.
Kind regards. Paul.

Yes, the mother was trying to find out how to tell her little Daughter about her dad, you can imagine. Her Daughter is one of Alma´s best friends and her cousin. They are not always on good terms but they love each other. They used to spend many weekends at our place.
Thank you all for your nice words, I feel this place is full of friends.

That's horrible news Carlos. My condolences :(

Me too. I really hate when kids learn about that part of life so early.
Loosing a friend is sad though so you have my sympathies too.
Best regards

Hi Carlos
Sorry that I missed this message when you first wrote it. I am so sorry for you and your friend's family. Losing those close to us can be the most difficult challenge we have to face - even more so when they are young and taken away so suddenly. I hope that with time the loss becomes easier to bear, and that your wonderful pictures provide fond memories and comfort to you all.
best wishes to you
Leon.

Carlos....this is terrible news. I remember seeing your photos of Alex many times over the years here on Filmwasters and you're absolutely right about him having that photogenic quality. There were many times when I looked at your photos of him and thought, "Now this is someone I think I'd like to meet.".
My sincerest condolences to all of you over there who are left picking up the pieces.

Thank you Ed for your nice words, whenever Alex stayed with us at our place I would ask him to pose and he would always happily do so, he liked being photographed and I liked photographing him :)
