This is pretty cool. I use my iPhone light meter now and then (gasp) versus my trusty seikonic. I might give these kids a try and for sure I wish them well...

Yeah, I saw this yesterday. At least their prototype looks good.
I wonder what the output sounds like?

It´s a guaranteed funded project. They are well on their way to 5x the requirement with 23 days to go. For 99 bucks I am willing to give it a go. My Sekonic L-318 is dead anyhow, and I have been using my iPhone as a meter ever since.

				Designed by hipsters for hipsters.

I'd find the incident only option too restricting, and I'm not sure about the 'Meter as fashion accessory' idea.

Good luck to them. It is an interesting concept, but the price is high - I recently bought a sekonic twin mate for about the same amount, it is roughly the same size as the Lumu and allows both reflective & incident readings.

Also,  They're missing a huge portion of the smartphone market by limiting it to iOs.

You are being a bit categoric, are you not Leon? Never been called a hipster before, at least not meant in a derogatory fashion. There is no lack of reflective light meters for smartphones, incident however yes. It would be easy to incorporate both into the same app, one setting using the dome, another the phone camera (like all other light meters for iPhone do). The fact that you can record your settings and notes without breaking out grapite and cellulose, is a nice feature I have come to appreciate from using other lightmeter apps.

There was nothing derogatory intended in my use of the term Hipster Ezzie. Some of my best friends sport ironic moustaches.

Perhaps I should rephrase: designed by hipsters for hipsters (and other non-specific societal sub-groups).

I'm with Leon here. I'd rather go with the Twinmate. But I can see how carrying one less item (as you normally have your phone with you anyway) might be appealing. As for recording the info: I'm happy when I get a rough date for when the shots were taken ;)

I have an ironic beard, a bald head, and a Sekonic twin mate - it's excellent

interesting concept, but for me at that size, I'd need a spot meter
-
Since I still don't have a smartphone, I'll keep on carrying my Sekonic Flashmate :)
Come to think of it, I'm probably hipper than those hipsters as I'm one level beyond irony   :P
-
Seems they are considering including flash metering from launch. HW supports it, "just" a matter of getting the SW right ;)

You and me both François ;D

can pc sync corded be attached or will this be an un-wired or wireless solution for flash?

Now this is quite interesting, especially since I'm a backer for both: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ondu-/ondu-pinhole-cameras/posts/535722?ref=email&show_token=c503d933d21e1d81 (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ondu-/ondu-pinhole-cameras/posts/535722?ref=email&show_token=c503d933d21e1d81)
