I also find that with boats and harbour scenes, getting in close to isolate patterns or textures can be very rewarding.

Of course, pottering around a photogenic Adriatic harbour is a rare holiday treat for me - I have to work with the best the tidal Thames has to offer...

I was born in a small town at the Adriatic coast, so love for the sea, ships and boats comes naturally to me.

Great shot, David. It was early in the morning or late afternoon judging by the long shadows.
The props are unfortunate aftermath of modern society.
