: My first ever Caffenol processing
: sapata June 05, 2013, 02:44:47 AM
This is something I'm doing due to necessity as imports in here are heavily taxed, making everything so expensive.

Olympus Trip loaded with Kodak B&W 400 C41 (indoors/no flash) process and fixed overnight with sodium thiosulfate mixed in water. I guess I should've left develop a bit more than 10 minutes.

It's quite fun actually!

That's a nice start!
hope you continue to use it, even though it smells kind of bad, but after a while you don't notice so much....

Good on you. I have since I started doing this nearly three years ago, not shown my Caffenol negatives to another soul. When I visited a friend's darkroom a week or so ago he commented on them quite positively. Low contrast maybe, but nice tones and quite sharp too. Gives me confidence to continue. Hope you do too.

As I said... I have to improve on this because is probably going to be my main developer as to get a bottle of Rodinal or any other branded developer isn't cheap. I remember back on the days I could get everything from Kodak and it was cheap but if I'm not mistaken, it was made around here...

Becky... the stuff is really smelly!... but for sure I'll get used to it ;)
