Hey all!
I'm doing a Caffenol workshop at the Parachute Factory in Las Vegas, New Mexico June 29th!
If you are in the area I'd love for you to pop by!
http://parachutefactory.org/ (http://parachutefactory.org/)
We'll do a walk around the historic downtown plaza and take some photos then go back to the Parachute Factory and brew up some Caffenol!
:)

Becky! you know I would be there if I could!

Congrats Becky. I'd definitely be there if I could. Hope it all goes well.
-
I wonder if the tour has any Canadian dates? ;)
-
Wow!
I have "roadies" already! ;)
Wish I could tour with it, wouldn't that be fun?!
I'll post up some photos of it once the shindig is done!
Thanks for the support, it really means a lot!!!! 8)

Me too!

Good on you Becky. I too would love to come, see how other Caffenolers do it. But sorry to say I'm half a world away.
-
Becky! This should have been scheduled for March. Then I could have been there :'(
-
Now that you mention it Phil, so could I. I was in SLC from end Feb to mid March. Dagnabbit!

I just need to buy an old RV and travel around with it and brew caffenol.....
I might have to make tacos too though...I get hungry on the road! ;D

It'd be like a Fotomat on wheels, except with food. :)
You'd have to drink/sell chicory coffee, just to keep the batches straight. Or snip the cord on an old Percolator, mount a thermometer on it and post a dev chart. ;)

That's sounds pretty awesome. I went to Las Vegas a few years ago and had a blast there.
Good shooting out there and the bars are fun.
I'd love to go, I already have a packed summer with projects. I might go to the next event in the future.

Becky, you are now even more awesome!! Good luck with the day and let's hope you get to repeat it with a Filmwaster or two in the future. Very much looking forward to seeing the photos.....I don't suppose anyone could shoot some video for us?

I don't often post in the on-line forums these days, but I want to acknowledge the fine job Becky did with the Caffenol workshop at the Parachute Factory in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She managed to get across all that was needed to get started with the coffee-based film developer. There was a very large crowd, and many looked like they had never before processed film, but it seemed that everyone had a great time.

I'll just add that I've been making pictures with old film cameras for quite a long time. A representative sample is available on my web site (http://mconnealy.com/).
(The two shots above were on Acros in my Argoflex Forty.)

Of course, Saturday 29th was a truly busy day in the international Filmwasters calendar !!
-
Truly!
We had about 25 eager people in the workshop and indeed some of them had never dunked a roll of film before so it was quite an experience all the way round! The people hosting the workshop for me overbooked it but it all worked out in the end!
Mike brought his own vintage Argoflex (a gorgeous camera) and was the first to dunk his film in caffenol and had a _very nice_ strip of negatives come out of the soup!
I think everyone enjoyed it, and only a few mishaps with some of the spooling on to the wire reels for the first timers, but all was good in the end. I've been invited back to do another one sometime later this year.
Truly a busy day in the international Filmwasters calendar!
Nice to see you again Mike!

Mike: Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to report back on the workshop and to post those wonderful shots.
Becky: Sounds like a pat on the back is very much the order of the day; well done!
