Hey, so I don't know if you know about this, the app Vine, which is like Twitter for videos, and I found this guy, Andy Martin, a film photographer (I think that's his Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/interzone-inc/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/interzone-inc/) )
Here are my favorite vines from him:

Fun! I like the how the sounds become rhythmic when looped. Someone should make a song with camera sound percussion.
-
I could listen to that 'blad one for hours. That would be a good napping noise.
-
I must admit, I do like the noise my Blad makes. When I had a Leica M6, I loved it's near-silent mechanism, but the slap of a Blad is something else. It's like driving an American V8 of the camera world.
-
You say that because you've never heard or felt the slap of a Pentax 67!
This thing will shake your bones and rattle your brain...

Cocking a Koni-Omega Rapid -M is rhythmic "Kerchunk" that might loop well.

Adam - I've got an Omega Rapid, too. Long favoured by wedding photographers (apparently), the cocking mechanism has been likened to cocking a pump-action shotgun. But it does get the attention of the mother of the bride.

TinTin: Love the clip. But is it any wonder Mrs Zapsnaps thinks that I'm getting more involved with kit than actually creating pictures (I went the same way with hi-fi at one stage, so Mrs Z knows the signs). I now spend so much time on here and related links that it's reducing my camera using time. Fun clip, though.

Francois: You're right! I've never used a Pentax 67, but I've wanted one ever since I saw one in the flesh & learned that Donovan used one. Love the wooden handle. If I was a street photographer, it could double-up as a crowd control implement.

If you had a Pentax 67 and did street photography, you'd more likely have a back ache!
This thing weighs a ton!

Hmmmm. You may have a point there! But it seems wrong to put an over-sized SLR on a tripod, somehow.

That's what monopods are for. Stable enough yet portable.
