Hats off to the alternative process crew, and donkey and sapata, the stuff looks great as usual. Tintin, the 3200 looks awesome in that bronica.

I am not going to try to compete on the esthetic side with this. But if you are a fan of the late, great David Foster Wallace, I hope to pick up literary bonus points - this is the logo for a ski club at a funky, run down hill in NY that my crazy family loves:
 (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8506/8557438075_ae70066d41_z.jpg) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mcduffco/8557438075/)

It reminds me of the logo for O.N.A.N from "Infinite Jest"
I am intentionally not imbedding this but if you care to see what I am referring to here is the work of some even more obsessed fan:

STUNNING! this photo makes me want to pack my bags and head straight back to the lakes. hopefully get another break there this year in the in laws cottage. amazing work.

Wow! Some wonderful stuff here (natch). Donkey Dave's first woodland scene is breathtaking. Now THAT, ladies and gentlemen is how to take a picture of a bunch of trees.

Mine's another from the recent trip to North Greenwich, London. It looks like a night shot, but it was actually super bright. That's sunlight shining back off the tall pointy thing. Bronica S2A with expired Polapan and a home made lens.  Oh, and for the record, I didn't selectively burn/dodge around the tall pointy things in P'shop. This is how it came out with some level adjustment across the image as a whole.

Some really beautiful work here again as usual, well done everyone  :) I am still struggling with my old flatbed scanner and it is still winning! A picture I took today as the circus is in town. Holga 120wpc pinhole camera, cheap on ebay as it is broken and Ilford HP5. Another to be printed properly when and if I can get back into the college darkroom  :)

 Thanks Fluminian.

Phenomenal set of photos this weekend. Peter R, Nick Moys, Becky and Paul Mitchell's photos are amongst the best I've seen for a long time - and that takes nothing away from the others posted.

Here's some Kodak Portra 800 (35mm) I shot today, in Cambridge. Processed by "Boots the Chemist" and post-processed by me via Adobe Lightroom 4.

-
Lovely purple door, there, Becky--and the mist-shrouded trees, Peter.  We had cold drizzle most of the day so I stayed indoors but then it turned into a snowstorm so I grabbed the Bronica and some Acros and headed out.  First is the Mercer Oak tree in a nearby park and the second is a bridge down by the canal.  Developed these in Rodinal at 1+50.

-
Terry - just lovin' the prospect of that snow!  ;)

Mauricio - Lovely colour over that wall. In comparison here's some London grey.

One Polaroid from my side, fp3000b with POlaroid 195, fp3000b can be shot in any light conditions but it´s a bit too contrasty to my taste, but I am getting used to it.

I had forgotten I wanted to share this wonderful picture of my great grandfather. I believe this was taken at his 100th birthday in Corvallis, Oregon around the turn of the 20the century. He lived to be 108. I think he looked fabulous. I never knew any of my relatives so I am thrilled to have been given this picture for my birthday. My brother has a large collection of old images from our family tree.

Diane, what a great picture and he looks amazing for 100!
-
So is this an excuse to post old pictures?

Just happens I'm in the process of scanning a load of old family pictures ready for a forthcoming reunion. I've got a box of old negatives and a pile of prints to do. Most of the prints are quite small but there's an amazing amount of detail in them. I guess they were contact prints. Here's just one. My mother is the young girl at the front and I would estimate this was taken about 1935.

I've no idea who took the picture but someone must have been a competant photographer.

				Nice.  I'll play.

My dad left several hundred negatives behind, and I'm fairly sure he never had the time to print any of them.  I scanned a bunch about ten years ago and this one is my favourite - approaching Cairo in the back seat of a Vickers Vincent, around 1938.

 Awesome vintage shots!
-
Excellent - i LOVE the old pics. And Sandeha, that is a stunner. Great excuse for me to drag these out again.  Taken by my great grandad - he was poor (pre-welfare state poor), lived in the slum area of Chatham (now cleared), had LOADS of kids so we cant work out how he could afford a camera and glass plates ??? Either way, he did and was quite a famous figure locally by all accounts. We found the negs when clearing a great uncle's house - I contacted them, and these were the results (they are all my relatives apparently):

-
Brilliant, Leon.  I think it warrants an heirloom thread !!

Leon: Of course they're related! Don't you see a similarity between the guy with the trolly and your smug mug? :)
