This probably as pure to photography as you can get!
This guy actually makes incredible abstract images on color paper without using a camera.
He actually sets fireworks and firecrackers directly on the paper and lights them. It creates images that are pretty much unlike anything I've ever seen.

Fascinating images though. One of them looked like lava from a volcano.
