It was a beautiful day, a rare sunny day after months of rain and occasional snow. So I grabbed my Cosina CT1
and off I went to the local beach. There were lots of people feeding pigeons and swans. Swans!? I have never
seen any swans at the Adriatic coast. Must be the climate changes and the poor birds are confused. This is the
best image from the day.

We do have geese around here (which are about the same size as swans). Beautiful birds. They can be either very nice and loving or they'll try and take a huge chunk out of your pants. Their beak is just about ding-dong height... painful memories there.
You also have to watch out for their wings as they have boney plates on the front that they use when attacking. They're strong enough to break an arm.

You don't say. Didn't know geese can be so dangerous. The swans I was talking about were doing what ever swans do quite peacefully. I don't know
what would happen if I had a piece of bread in my hands instead of camera. :)

I never would have believed that swans are so dangerous hadn't I consulted google.

Thanks jojonas~. Now I know.

Don't annoy them and give them some room (especially when they have babies which are so lovely) and you'll be OK.

And together with ants they love caviar, comes in very handy at times. Well, only one time really. All of us where happy in the end.
Ants, swans and men.

Sorry, but I don't get it. Ants love caviar?

Geese can get mightily aggressive when they have goslings.
I have had one Canada goose fly into me as I cycled past it on the way into work last year - I got too close to it's gosling. They are heavy birds too about 10kg.

Went hiking by the seaside once and saved my self and my company from the angry swans and ants by offering them caviar.
Your photograph brought back memories. Interesting ones ;)

I understand now. Swans and ants are discerning gourmets. Have you served Pinot noir with the caviar maybe? ;)
