Yesterday I was feeling fed up with either not having the time or when I did have the time the weather to get out and shoot, so I decided to set up a little still life studio in my workshop (shed). As it happens this didn't quite work out as I couldn't focus close enough with my Hassy - but that's another story.
So I thought I'd look on online for some still life inspiration. I've done some Googling but without too much success, I looked in Flickr and, errr, lets just say it wasn't to my taste. So are there any recommendations for good still life photography?

If you Google "still-life fine art photography" (without the "....") there's loads appear. That said, a lot of it is commercial, digital and foodie photography. Nothing wrong in that, but it depends on what you have in mind.....

How about looking beyond photography and looking at some of the still life paintings from the 18th and 19th century?

Have a look at large format photography forum, there are wonderful threads dedicated to still life.. (They have one long thread for every year, so you'll have to dig a bit for the previous years.)

Seamus A Ryan did some interesting polaroid stuff, but it looks like he has gone to the digi side now.

first thing, hi to all (noob here,) I like the still life work of Robert Mapplethorpe, all large format. Please don't let his more...uh...personal work dissuade you, he did some lovely work.
